Twisted Cyclone Blogger Media Day Recap
If you follow me on Instagram then you know that last week, my family and I were invited to a media day at Six Flags Over Georgia to celebrate the opening of rejuvenated "Twisted Cyclone". It is has been updated with a combination or wood and steel into one adrenaline-pumping coaster unlike any other at Six Flags Over Georgia.
Combining the traditional wood structure with a steel track, Twisted Cyclone sends guests upside down through three wicked inversions. Twisted Cyclone intertwines the best of both worlds- a classic wooden coaster with a modern, steel track for a hair-raising, over-the-top thrill ride. I have love the updates they have made. It is such a smooth ride and so much more fun than ever before!
After the event ended, my family and I decided to take turns picking rides. My son chose the sky buckets, my daughter chose Monster Mansion, my husband chose Dare Devil Dive, and I chose Batman: The Ride. My son is still only 39 1/2 inches and my daughter did not want to ride, but at Six Flags Over Georgia they have a great feature called "Parent Swap". What I loved about this is that my husband and I were both able to ride more of the adult rides while still being able to enjoy having our children with us. How "Parent Swap" works is, one parent rides first while the second waits in the exit area, then they just swap seats! Such a cool idea! We tried this for the first time last year and the lines were relatively short so my kiddos had no issues waiting, except my son just wishing he was tall enough to ride!
Then we headed to the car for lunch. We brought our Grizzly cooler so everything stayed cold and we ate in the shade. We also grabbed our bathing suits, puddle jumpers, and more sunscreen so we could head to Hurricane Harbor.
Hurricane Harbor is the way to go if you want to stay all day at the park. They have changing rooms and where as the res of the park you have to wear shoes and mostly clothes, in this section you can walk around in just your bathing suit. Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags Over Georgia was named the third-best Outdoor Water Park in the Country in the 2017 10Best USA Today reader’s poll and definitely for a reason! Hurricane Harbor is a 7-acre oasis, featuring a 38,000 square foot wave pool with four foot waves and the world’s first Tsunami Surge water slide – 5 stories tall with a wave wall that sends riders perpendicular to the ground with a sensation of weightlessness, among other attractions. Hurricane Harbor is open daily (starting at 12 p.m.) through August 6 and weekends through mid-September. My daughter is able to ride most of slides, my son ended taking a nap break and we traded off to slide with her. Six Flags also has life jackets available (no extra fee) and lifeguards at every top and bottom of slides, so safety was clearly a top priority when designing this fun experience. Changing rooms are also available as well.
After that we rode rides leading out of the park. We rode the carousel and the enjoyed everything in the World's First DC Super Friends area. And then we took a round trip on their train around the original park layout.

The event started at 9:30 a.m. and thanks to the relatively short lines and being able to cool off at Hurricane Harbor, we stayed until 6:00 p.m. that night. We had so much fun! We always have a blast when we go to Six Flags Over Georgia and look forward to going back again!
What did you think of our day at the park with Six Flags Over Georgia? Do you want to experience the new ride yourself?
Although my family was invited out to a complimentary Media Day at Six Flags Over Georgia to experience the new rejuvenated Twisted Cyclone ride, we have loved going here since my husband and were children. I am so excited to create more memories with my family here! And all opinions are our own.
